Everything You Need To Know About Thami Letto

Thami Letto is a handcrafted Burmese rice and noodle topper, a bold, savoury food paste made from crispy onions, roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, gram flour, aromatic spices, and sunflower oil. The Original version also includes sardines and fish sauce for deep umami richness.

It’s designed to transform plain rice or noodles into a flavour-packed meal in seconds. Think of it as your new go-to shortcut to deliciousness.

Yes, Thami Letto is fully cooked and ready to enjoy straight from the jar. There’s no prep needed, just spoon it onto your rice or noodles, mix well, and enjoy. It’s also delicious on toast, as a dip, or stirred into stir-fries.

It has a rich, warming kick, not overpowering, but enough to wake up your tastebuds. It’s medium in spice, balanced by the natural sweetness of fried onions and the creaminess of peanuts and sesame. If you enjoy dishes like sambal, chilli oil, or spicy chutneys, this is right up your alley.

Each jar comes with a best before date. Unopened, it can last several months when stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, we recommend keeping it refrigerated and using it within 3 to 4 weeks for the best flavour and freshness. Always use a clean, dry spoon to avoid contamination.

The Original Thami Letto contains sardines and fish sauce, giving it a deep umami flavour with a touch of savoury richness from the sea.
The Vegan Thami Letto skips all animal products and doubles down on roasted peanuts and sesame seeds for a nutty, creamy base. It’s just as bold and satisfying, but completely plant-based.

Oh, plenty! Thami Letto is extremely versatile. Try it:

  • Spread on warm toast or flatbread

  • Drizzled over boiled eggs

  • Stirred into fried rice or stir-fried veggies

  • As a condiment on the side of your main dish

  • With dumplings, chips, or crackers as a dip

And don’t forget, once you mix it in, top with fresh coriander, sliced onions, spring onions, and a squeeze of lemon to take it to the next level!

Every jar is lovingly made in small batches by Burmawala Kitchen in London, England 🇬🇧. We’re a small family-run business dedicated to bringing authentic Burmese flavours to your table, fresh, bold, and honest.
